Applications
As you have already learnt, a muscle has many sarcomere units. The ensemble of individual sarcomere units that contract together simultaneously enables the whole muscle to contract. The muscle can then produce enough force to move a load and do work. Some of the principles of muscle contraction are illustrated below:
